BMW has unveiled a new special edition of the i8 – Protonic Red Edition, the vehicle that lures everyone with its red bodywork and metallic grey highlights.
Well, the vehicle looks kind of cool, isn't it?
Let's learn more about it.
At 2016 Geneva Motor Show i8 Protonic Red was one of the most visited cars and there's a reason for that --a golden mean between sportiness and performance.
Exterior and Interior
BMW bathes this limited edition i8 in the eponymous red and paints some the trim Frozen Grey metallic. The company finishes off the exterior improvements with 20-inch W-spoke wheels that it decorates Orbit Grey metallic with Aluminum matte hub
The interior upgrades amount to red double-stitching around the cabin and the addition of some carbon fibre and ceramic trim.
The colour scheme is complemented by BMW W-spoke 470 light-alloy wheels painted in Orbit Grey metallic with hubs painted in Aluminium matt and mixed-size tyres (front: 215/45 R20, rear: 245/40 R20). Inside the inaugural special-edition i8, red double-stitching and applications in high-grade carbon fibre and ceramic provide indications of its exceptional sporting character.
Juice
There are no mechanical changes, so, the i8 Protonic Red is as fast as the original version of i8.
Production
Like all BMW's special-edition models, i8 Protonic Red will be available to order for a limited period of time.
A total amount of vehicles produced should be not more than 1,000 -- you'd better hurry up if you want to have one-- and the price is bound to be $160,000(without tax incentives).
BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition will be produced at BMW Plant Leipzig starting from July.
